The Scientists - "Blood Red River"


I'm heading off to Australia, so this will be my last post for a few weeks. To celebrate my upcoming trip, I'm paying tribute to one of the all-time best Australian underground bands: The Scientists!

"Blood Red River" is avant-blues-noise-rock, growling and slithering. A huge influence on bands like The Jesus Lizard, U.S, Maple, Bloodloss, and Mudhoney. This particular album, recorded in the early 80's, also reminds me of The Cramps at their shit-dirtiest. The title track is particularly great, don't miss...
